Try Nero I actually usually don’t use the re-coder on mine, but it has a re-coder which is what is used to change a format of a video file.
The dvd to your hard drive and then use video converter to avi here is free one httpwwwerightsoftcomsuperhtml others httpwwwimtoocom httpwwwxilisoftcom.
i am just guessing but i believe that windows media player should be able to rip it by adding it to your library it will then convert
