I have been a musician for over 50 years and I can tell you the nothing is better to help you learn than a good teacher. Once you learn the basics, then you might be able to work some for yourself but especially the violin. It is a beautiful instrument when played well. I have one too and instruction is the best thing. Free, I doubt but instruction for sure.
